Rocky Phagura is a man of many trades. A technology enthusiast, aspiring chef, ambitious entrepreneur, a musician in the making and now studying to be a Quant. His main profession is computer engineering and he holds a Bachelors of Science in electrical engineering and a Masters in Business administration (MBA). Rocky is also a co-patent holder of the 1st generation USB technology. The majority of his engineering work was with Intel Corporation where he worked for 14 years. Software, firmware and technical marketing were the primary areas of his employment. He also worked at Micron developing performance analytics software for SSD (solid-state drive) based storage systems.

Rocky also follows the stock market closely. In the last few years, Rocky spent time studying economics and finance. In particular he focused on stocks and bonds. His objective was to understand the market indicators so that he could reasonably forecast economic downturns and booms. Having compiled all this information and paper traded for so many years, Rocky has finally put his theories to the test in the stock market. So far the results have been extraordinary. His next project in finance is to create an AI (Artificial Intelligence) engine that performs stock trades based on his thinking.

Aspiring chef? You probably didn’t guess that one, but it’s correct. From a young age, Rocky has enjoyed cooking. Over the years he has tinkered with many recipes and created fusion dishes with foods that most chefs would not combine. Now he has earned the necessary culinary skills to be a chef. Whether Rocky is cooking for a few or a few hundred his food is quite delicious. Recently he has been cooking up tasty food as a volunteer at a non-profit that serves meals to the homeless and indigent. His expertise lies in Indian, Mediterranean, Mexican, and Chinese Food. He only cooks a few dishes out of those ethnic cuisines but they are superb. He himself loves seafood and has many go to dishes in that area. This doesn’t mean he can’t make good ole’ American food. Ask him about his killer Mac N Cheese. So whether you like Butter Chicken, Asian chicken with Fried Rice, or spicy Mexican Tacos, this man can provide a mouth watering meal. Oh by the way, his Fish Pakoras are a perfect complement to a pint of a Sierra Nevada pale ale.

And, what goes better with good food? Good music. His longtime passion, music, finally got a break that it needed. He finally had the time to sit down and learn music theory. Recently, Rocky has spent time playing the drums, piano and guitar. He has also written piano pieces which he says requires intense focus to compile. His goal for 2019 is to create meditation music and publish a professional copy on iTunes. Rocky uses music as an outlet to relax and unwind. His favorite genres are Country, Hip Hop, 70’s rock n roll and Punjabi music.
